Ingredients

  • 2 cups premium all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or cream)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fondant for decoration
  • Edible flowers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Pour the batter into greased cake pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool cakes for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Layer cakes with frosting in between and cover with fondant for decoration.
