A vibrant and refreshing Caprese salad featuring juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe tomatoes
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • Coarse sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into even pieces.
  2. Arrange them in an alternating pattern on a serving dish.
  3. Place fresh basil leaves throughout the arrangement.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  5. Season lightly with freshly cracked pepper and coarse sea salt if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, substitute mozzarella with burrata. Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within a day.
