A vibrant marble cake combining rich chocolate and vanilla flavors, perfect for summer celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder in separate bowls.
  5. Mix the flour mixture with the wet ingredients, alternating with milk until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into two bowls and add vanilla extract to one and cocoa powder to the other.
  7. Alternate spooning the batters into a prepared pan to create a marble effect.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cake in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar or serve with icing as desired.

Notes

Butter should be at room temperature for easy creaming. Don’t overmix the batter to maintain light texture.
